1. Information stored on your device
The app stores the following locally so games and settings work between sessions:
- game progress, levels, scores, saved boards, wins, streaks, challenge and live-event progress, rank and season-pass progress;
- in-game currencies, rewards, owned cosmetics, purchase-entitlement records, and ad frequency counters;
- your chosen in-game display name, game order, and app preferences, including theme, sound, music, haptics and reduced-motion settings; and
- notification preferences and locally scheduled reminder times.
This information is not uploaded to a Game Bytes account. Removing the app normally deletes locally stored data. Purchase records held by an app store or our purchase processor may remain available to validate or restore purchases.
2. Analytics, diagnostics and remote configuration
Firebase Analytics helps us understand how the app is used. Events may include app and screen opens, game and level activity, session duration, tutorial use, challenges and rewards, broad progress buckets, ad interactions, purchase status and settings changes. They do not intentionally include your display name, chat messages, email address or other content you type.
Firebase Crashlytics diagnoses crashes: crash traces, diagnostic logs, timestamps, app version, device model, operating-system information, available device resources, and installation or session identifiers. Crash reports are retained for 90 days before removal begins.
Firebase Remote Config delivers settings such as live events, maintenance notices, minimum supported versions and feature availability. Google processes this information under its privacy policy and Firebase terms, on its global infrastructure.
3. Advertising
Game Bytes uses Google AdMob to support its free games:
- Rewarded video ads are always optional — you choose whether to watch one for a clearly described in-game benefit such as a reward, hint or second chance.
- Banner ads appear on some menu screens and in a small number of games, in a fixed position away from the play controls.
- Interstitial (full-screen) ads appear occasionally and only at natural break points, are limited to a few per day, never appear during active play, and can be closed after a short time.
The premium season pass removes banner and interstitial ads for that season; rewarded ads stay available because they are optional. The Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect IP address (to estimate a general location), ad and app interactions, diagnostic information, and device identifiers such as the Android advertising ID or app-set ID, for advertising, measurement, analytics and fraud prevention. This data is encrypted in transit, and advertising identifiers can be reset or deleted in your device settings.
4. In-app purchases
Optional one-time purchases — coin packs and a premium season pass — are processed by Google Play (or the App Store, where applicable). We never receive your full card or bank details.
Adaptydisplays products, validates transactions, delivers and restores purchases, detects refunds and measures purchase performance, using a pseudonymous profile for the installation. If you are signed in to Play Games Services, your Play Games player ID is sent as that profile's customer identifier so a verified purchase reaches the right player. Your display name and email address are never sent to Adapty.
When a purchase is verified, our service records the purchased-coin balance against your Play Games player ID in Google Firebase (the app signs in anonymously to read it) and reverses it if the purchase is refunded. That record holds no name, email or payment details.
5. Google Play Games
If you sign in to Google Play Games Services — or the platform recognises an existing sign-in — the app may receive your platform display name and submit your total XP and unlocked achievements to leaderboards. Your platform account is handled by Google under its privacy policy; Game Bytes never receives your password.
6. Multiplayer
Local (nearby) matches. Ludo and Carrom can host matches over a local Wi-Fi network, hotspot or tethered network. Nearby devices exchange game state, seat selections, chosen player names and, where available, match chat directly over that network; chat is kept only for the current match and is not sent to a Game Bytes internet server.
Online matches. When you start or join an online match, the app signs in to Google Firebase anonymously and stores the match: each player's anonymous sign-in identifier and chosen display name, match state and results (seats, scores, the winner and any rewards) and, if you are signed in to Play Games, your player ID so rewards reach you. No email address or real-world identity is attached to a match.
Other players can see the name and messages you choose to share — avoid putting personal or sensitive information in player names or chat.
7. Permissions
What the app asks for
- Camera
- Only if you choose QR-code joining for a local match. Processed on the device; no photos or video are saved or uploaded.
- Notifications
- Optional, asked after you have played and won. Reminders are scheduled locally; occasional What's New announcements arrive on one shared Firebase Cloud Messaging topic sent to everyone alike.
- Contacts, precise location, photos, files
- Not requested.
8. Sharing, children and your choices
- We share information only with the service providers above, with app stores and platform gaming services when you use their features, to comply with law or protect users, or in a business transfer with appropriate safeguards. We do not sell personal information for money.
- Game Bytes is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly ask a child for direct personal identifiers. Parents and guardians should supervise advertising, chat, platform sign-in and purchase features and use the parental controls in Google Play and the device.
- Rewarded ads, camera access, platform sign-in, local multiplayer and purchases are optional. Camera and notification permissions can be revoked in device settings; advertising personalisation is managed in your device or Google settings.
- The current version does not offer an in-app switch for Firebase Analytics. Removing the app clears locally stored data, including locally earned progress and currencies.
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to or port personal information we control. We may need a transaction or installation identifier to locate pseudonymous records.
